The present report and presentation provide a safety analysis of e-bikes (electric bikes) in the Netherlands.
Initially, the system is defined having into account the safety cube method. Then, the safety definitions are mentioned. Here, the current rules and regulations of e-bikes are discussed. The recent accidents involving these vehicles are also approached.
In addition, the most relevant hazards of electric bikes are identified. The ones with higher risks are further investigated. Recommendations and suggestions are provided to try to mitigate such hazards, by decreasing the probability of its occurrence.
Finally, a conclusion is given to try to improve the safety of electric bikes in the Netherlands.
